Try New Experiences Outside of Your Design Comfort Zone

We know what things take us forward and when it comes to design, it is very familiar to us designers, so it is a real comfort to create it and do what we like. But let's say there are different things that we avoid, but when there is no way out we have to do them. This is called leaving out of the design comfort zone.

We divide jobs into good and bad. We put off the ones we don't want to do until another time and they accumulate, so we inevitably have to do them at some point. Sometimes it is even better to leave the comfort zone, when we delve into the specifics of the work and think that maybe it is not bad at all, so we feel even more comfortable after doing it, so sometimes it is useful to do something that is not your ideal.

Evaluate Your Capabilities and Time

You have to choose what is better two create two small and simply designs or one big which is not your favorite for the same time and money. If you choose the big one with a risk of not beating it and getting nothing at all or just sit back and do things where you have more experience and done everything to the last point? That's a question of million dollars, but the answer we leave to say by yourself.

Another meaning. Just count how much cost your time and skills. Are you happy to earn a small amount because you are sitting well in your comfort chair or worth bigger sums of money? You must always compare your capabilities and time you spend to create a design and to found out how much you are really worth. As we say, don't rest on laurels, just try asking more from your customer. To go out from your comfort zone sometimes is necessary.

Take Advice from Other Designers

It's not a bad idea to take advice and examples from other designers to see their efforts and limits of possibilities, how they leave their comfort zone and strive to satisfy their clients. Just do a research as in this digital era is so simply to find similar people as you, making the living from design. Ask some questions what are coming to your head and with conversation you can draw conclusions.

As designer to designer you can ask such a questions; how do you feel about experimenting during client projects? Do you always stick to your comfort zone or do you try new stuff? As a designer how do you feel about your client approach? Just write on paper your questions which are important for you that later don't forget them. One day you are able to go to the wider waters and find your new limits of possibilities.

Ask the Client About You As a Designer

That's simply, when you start a conversation with a client just ask his opinion what he thinking about examples of your designs, about your abilities. Don't be shy to ask does he trust you, or confident in assigning the design work to you. Mostly you can find in which level are you, but don't try to play with the client when comes the money time. It can be very slippy.

To go out from your comfort zone, means that you are ready to make the design projects which you haven't done yet. Try to put yourself to unknown things, but with full confidence that you can overcome them. Remember that you must have al necessary equipment and tools to create the needed design and you can learn by doing - another exemplary expression.

Final Thoughts

When you believe in yourself the things will be going forwards without possibility to burn. A comfort is when you don't lost in empty space and can control yourself. Be prepared for turbulence. All kind of events happens in live and design, it's important to be able to get up after falling down - that is a leaving the design comfort zone.
